Why I'm Querying LETHAL WORDS

While I thoroughly enjoyed self-publishing A MOTHER'S PREMONITION, I ultimately made the decision to query my second novel, LETHAL WORDS.
I will admit - it was a tough decision, solely because the indie author community has been so supportive and welcoming, I was scared they might see it as a betrayal of sorts. I feared I wouldn't be able to participate in the community at all.
But what it boils down to isn't what I want -- it's about what the story deserves.

I'm confident that LETHAL WORDS is a phenomenal story that will have readers hooked. But maybe, I'm not the right person to get it into the hands of those that would love it. LETHAL WORDS deserves to find a team that can help polish and promote. At this point, it's not about my ego -- it's about making the decision that I feel is best for the story and its main character, Blake.
I've also realized I can continue to participate in the indie author comm
unity, just in a different way! I can still support their socials, buy their books, and read spread the word to friends. I can be there for others who may choose to pivot to the traditional publishing route.
I know this will be a long (and potentially fruitless) process, but I have to try. If not for me, for Blake.
